There are four girls, and this time they are off to Florida to have fun! But one of the girls has a brother who has gotten into trouble. He had been sent to Atlanta to work, as he had gotten into trouble back home in New York. But he ran off, last seen in Florida, and apparently in trouble. So while the girls are having their little adventures, always in the back of their minds is how to solve the mystery of the missing brother. The bad guys in this tale are practically white slavers, and indeed people you wouldn't want to meet in the swamp. Oh, and alligators are there, too. The story is enjoyable, and is recommended. Obviously very dated, but no worse or no better than most girls' books of the era where the main characters are always white, and well-off.
Not well written, I could not even get past the first chapter. Finally gave up and deleted it. Oh well.
